Today, I’ll talk about some do’s and don’t’s regarding the topic of showering. Some readers may be confused like is there a right way to take a shower? Well, it depends if you want to reap the full benefits of clear skin and reduced stress because there are some tips and tricks you can utilize that can result in clear skin and a feeling of thorough cleansing.
First off I would recommend you to turn the temperature down a little. While hot showers feel amazing and heavenly, they dry out your skin from the natural oils and result in flaky skin and dandruff in the hair. However, if you can’t get yourself to replace the hot shower experience, try doing most of your showering routine with lukewarm water then turn it up for a minute to get the relaxation effect.
You don’t need to take extra long showers to get cleaned up properly, 10 minutes is ideal for a proper shower. Also, it is important to limit taking about 1 shower a day because it is known to strip your skin from the essential oils that give it a perfect shine. I would also recommend you to treat yourself to a long warm bath once a week, but keeping your daily ones short.
A Small Tip
Most of us use the lather, rinse, repeat, but that is not needed, as you expose your skin to more chemicals that can damage your skin. Instead, try this, lather once thoroughly, rinse and then don’t repeat unless you have ultra-oily scalp. After that just apply conditioner to the tips of your hair and let it do its magic for a couple of minutes while massaging your scalp, and then rinse it off for shiny hair.
Should You Use A Loofah?
I would recommend you to eliminate the loofah fully from your routine if you don’t wash it throughout and let it dry afterward because bacteria love moist and warm places that it can grow. Also on top of that because of the material of the loofah, it can damage your skin and strip it from its natural protective barrier. Instead, you can opt for a washcloth that is made for cotton, but you have to still clean it regularly.
Consider filtering your water, because most of the water sources are contaminated with hard chemicals which can lead to breakouts and allergic reactions, in addition to that they can leave residue on the skin, resulting in dryness and irritation, not to mention the build-up. Lotions & Moisturizers
Lotion and moisturize as soon as you get out of the shower, because that is when the pores of the skin are opened up and your skin will absorb it instantly. This can help you achieve soft to touch and clear skin, which most of us crave.
